Blue Fusion Escapes and Insights
March 2024
It's that time of year again—spring forward. I don’t know about you, but I look forward to moving the clocks ahead. I welcome longer days of sunlight and get a little excited to think about flowers and trees blooming and, while belated, the promise of warmer days. Warm sunny days are my favorite kind of day.
As we revel in the longer days and nature's bloom, it's a perfect time to imagine the new memories waiting to be made in the sunny landscapes of places like Hawaii, the vibrant cultures of Mexico, or the breathtaking sceneries of Fiji and Puerto Rico.
Family Scuba Diving and Snorkeling: The Best Way to Explore the Underwater World
There is no denying the underwater world is a unique and beautiful place. There's just so much to see and do between the exotic fish, the colorful coral reefs, and the sunken shipwrecks. There are many options for exploring underwater, from glass-bottom boats to submarine rides. But if you're willing to get wet to see what's underneath, snorkeling or scuba diving is the way to go. Not sure which activity is suitable for your family? Here are some of the basics of each activity to help you decide.
Travel Tip: Mexico
When visiting Mexico, don't worry about bringing adapters or converters for your hair appliances. They use the same outlets as the US and Canada, which means no need for converters or adapters. One less thing to worry about when packing.
Did you know?
Cancun Beaches
Do you love the white, soft sand of the beaches in Cancun? That's the magic of crushed coral! Over centuries, the ocean has naturally crushed coral and marine shells, creating the powdery, soft sand we all love. Cancun's shores are a testament to nature's artistry, turning ocean life into landscapes of serene beauty.
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, El Yunque. You can hike its lush landscapes and hidden waterfalls. Puerto Rico is also home to the serene beauty of Flamenco Beach, often rated among the world’s top beaches.

Is taking a cruise the same as going to an all-inclusive?
Many people view cruising as an all-inclusive synonymously. While they are both designed to be a hassle-free vacation, there are some distinct differences. Here are a few:
Cruising
Variety of Destinations: A cruise offers the unique advantage of exploring multiple destinations in a single trip without the need to pack and unpack. You could wake up in a new port every morning, ready to explore a new city or island.
Entertainment and Activities: Cruise ships are well known for their extensive range of onboard entertainment, including Broadway-style shows, water parks, and adult-only areas. It's like a floating resort with myriad options to entertain every age group.
Dining Options: Most cruise ships offer various options, from buffet-style meals to fine dining restaurants catering to all palates.
Alcoholic beverages: Your base cost of the cruise, in most cases, covers basic beverages like water, tea, coffee, and juice. Alcoholic beverages, as well as specialty nonalcoholic beverages (think sparkling water, soda pop), are an additional charge.
Meeting New People: The structure of a cruise encourages mingling and meeting new people, whether during dining, group excursions, or onboard activities.
All-Inclusive Resorts
Stay in One Place: Unlike a cruise, an all-inclusive resort keeps you in one location, perfect for travelers looking to unwind and not worry about moving from one place to another.
Comprehensive Amenities: All-inclusive resorts typically offer extensive amenities such as spa services, water sports, and golf, often included in the price.
Entertainment and Activities: Most all-inclusive resorts offer some type of entertainment and included activities.
Alcoholic Beverages: The base price of an all-inclusive resort includes alcoholic beverages and most specialty drinks. Some resorts offer the option to upgrade to top-shelf liquor.
Cultural Immersion: Staying in one destination allows for deeper exploration of the local culture, cuisine, and landmarks although some are quite content never to leave the property.
In summary, cruising, and all-inclusive resorts each provide unique vacation experiences catering to different preferences. Cruises are ideal for those who love exploring new destinations, are open to meeting new people, and don’t mind additional expenses for certain beverages and activities. On the other hand, all-inclusive resorts appeal to travelers looking for a relaxing vacation in a single location, with a straightforward approach to budgeting for their stay.
