Did you know yesterday was Global Travel Advisor Day?

Do you ever have those days when you feel like your motivation and energy have checked out for a little getaway and forgot to invite you?

It's that time of year again—spring forward. I don’t know about you, but I look forward to moving the clocks ahead. I welcome longer days of sunlight and get a little excited to think about flowers and trees blooming and, while belated, the promise of warmer days. Warm sunny days are my favorite kind of day.

I can't believe how quickly January went by and it's February.  Blah.  My least favorite month of the year.  I'm always ready for winter to be done by February.  I've had enough windstorms, ice storms, bitter cold and gloomy dark days.  Unfortunately, here in Portland, we have a long way to go before warmer sunnier days.  My winter getaway is overdue.

It's a new year and time for new travel.  Not just opportunities for new travel plans for the year, but I challenge you to try something new.  A new destination, a new type of travel, new travel companions.  Find ways to expand your travel experiences this year.

What I love about traveling during fall is that it's just so relaxed. You get to avoid the big summer crowds, there's that gorgeous fall foliage scenery, and since it’s a slower season for many destinations, you might be able to stretch your travel dollar a little more.
